BERGO CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF FLOORING SOLUTIONS

Bergo Flooring has developed, produced and delivered multifunctional floor tiles since 1972. Now, under the leadership of the Lindén family, Bergo Flooring celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2022.

The man who lit the Bergo Flooring spark in 1972 was the founder Fritjof Bergqvist, who grew tired of playing tennis on black, hard asphalt and muddy clay courts. He developed a product that proved to be the solution, also for other surfaces problems.

In 1987 Reine Johansson, with family, took over the business. During the years 2001-2017 Mr Johansson and the Lindén family successfully developed the company to become a global player. Since 2017 the Lindén family has been sole owners and leading stars of the company.

– I have my roots within the plastics industry, both from my grandfather and father. There is a long tradition of entrepreneurship within my family, here in Anderstorp. It was in this region that I learned about running long term business, says Emil Linden, CEO of Bergo Flooring.

The tennis court solution led onto a multitude of usage areas. Today Bergo floors can be found in countless leisure and sports facilities and are used by the major federations. You will find the products in garages, storage rooms and balconies. The floors can be seen in public spaces, such as stores, car showrooms and events. They can even be found in the harshest environment of all – outdoor ship decks.

– We are not a traditional flooring company. Our floorings solve problems on surfaces where most other floors fail. That has been part of our success story. Each environment has its own specific challenges, which is why we have developed products, adapted for different environments, Emil Lindén continues.

The Bergo tile is the original, and from humble beginnings in 1972, Bergo Flooring has today a world leading role within multifunctional floor tiles and currently export over 80% of their sales to more than 40 countries.

– We play an important role in building social sustainability. Our solution leads to a more active lifestyle and contributes to improved health, a more integrated society, in an environmentally sustainable way. We create places - where activities come to life. We think this is important, both today and for future generations, Emil Lindén concludes.
